Free TikTok Transcript Tools: Every Real Limit, 2026

Every TikTok transcript tool says it is free. All of them are, up to a point, and none of them make that point easy to find.

This is that point, for each of them, with the number stated plainly. Ours included — and ours is not the most generous one on the list.

The one distinction that matters: does it reset?

A free tier that resets daily is worth roughly a hundred times more than a one-time grant of the same size. This is the single most useful thing to know about the category, and almost nobody states it clearly on their pricing page.

Two transcripts a day is 730 transcripts a year. Two hundred credits granted once at signup is two hundred credits, forever. The second number looks a hundred times bigger and is, in practice, far smaller. When you read a free tier, find out which kind it is before you compare anything else.

Every free tier, with its real limit

Two things fall out of that table that we would rather were not true.

Our actual edge is narrower than "we're more generous". It is that TranscribeTok needs no account at all. Paste a link, read the text, close the tab. TokScript, WayinVideo, VexaScribe and GetTranscribe all want a signup before they hand you anything.

TikTok's own captions are the tempting trap

TikTok generates auto-captions for most videos and provides no way to copy, export or download them. Not in the app, not on the web, not in the creator tools. You can read them while the video plays and that is the entire feature.

How the paid plans compare in shape

Never pay, if you transcribe a handful of videos a month. Use TranscribeTok's 2 a day with no signup, or TokScript's 5 a day if you will make the account. Both reset. Neither will ever charge you.

Pay TranscribeTok if your usage is bursty and you want a library. One-time packs with non-expiring credits suit irregular work better than a monthly bill you forget to cancel.

Pay TokScript or GetTranscribe if this is a weekly workflow. They ship more surface area — bulk import, extensions, AI agents, integrations — and a subscription is the honest shape for continuous use.

Use a developer API if you are writing code, and skip all of the above. That is a different decision with different numbers.

Run Whisper locally if you have real volume and a GPU. OpenAI's open-source model is genuinely unlimited and genuinely free, at the cost of a Python setup and your own compute. Nothing hosted can beat $0.

Free tiers are not equally free in every language

One more thing worth testing before you settle: accuracy varies enormously by language, and every free tier is large enough to check. Run one real video in the language you care about.
